Dark Times is a historically inspired Live-Roleplay event, where the players take on the role of the Baron de Launcey's special militia, commissioned to investigate unusual and supernatural goings-on in the land

Set in England in the year 1359 AD, the events are weekend long, catered horror events, similar in style to "Call of Cthulhu" type games, but with a medieval setting. The world is that of medieval England as it was perceived at the time; the devil is real, the evil spirits in the forest are actually there

The games generally have "dark" themes, and are for mature players only

Previous games have included

Event 1 - Twins
A corrupt and devil worshipping village elder convinces the local priest to "corrupt" a local woman so that he can enact a ritual to create the new Anti-Christ. Unfortunately the ritual failed as the woman had twins, one being born brain dead the other transformed into a flesh-eating monster. Trying to hide their crime, the beast was cast into the forest, the other adopted by the local physician. All was fine until the monster grew hungry

Event 2 - Lunch
A boy hanged for a crime he didn't commit. A woman with a dark secret. A husband obsessed with his reputation. A spirit determined to wreak revenge on those who killed his son, and those that chose to defend them. A haunted house revealed the secrets of the spirits who could not leave, possessing some and requiring the militia to come and solve the mystery

Event 3 - Heads
A knight Templar burnt at the stake but not yet dead seeks revenge on those that condemned the order to death. A monastry being beseiged by this undead monster holds the secrets of the motive and nature of the murders

Event 4 - Alone
A number of suicides at a deserted house leads to questions. The militia investigate only to find that the residents seem most friendly. Only that it seems that one of them has been in the house for over 180 years. A tale of isolation and the need to banish it
